Travis grew up in a blue collar family, where he learned firsthand the value of hard work and the importance of a dollar. Unfortunately, finances were rarely discussed at home or taught in school. Early on, he realized that financial planning should be straightforward and accessible, but too often it is anything but.

Over the years, he saw many people struggling with financial decisions, leaving them feeling uncertain about their future. The complexity of the financial services industry often made things worse, creating confusion instead of confidence.

Determined to change that, Travis founded Different By Design Financial Planning in 2016. His mission is to provide clear and unbiased financial guidance tailored to a select group of clients who value trust, transparency, and expertise.

With nearly two decades of financial experience, a Master’s in Financial Planning, and the distinction of being a Certified Financial Planner®, Travis is dedicated to challenging the shortcomings of the traditional financial industry. He believes financial advice should be built around people, not products. By focusing on what truly works for his clients, he helps them gain confidence, clarity, and control over their financial future.

When Travis is not working to serve his clients, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, staying active, and keeping up with their energetic German Shorthaired Pointer, Sturgill!
